    • ONE DAY WORKSHOP TITLED AS “COMBATING NATURAL GAS SHORTAGE”: CAN COAL GASIFIERS PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION AND RELIEF TO THE INDUSTRY GASPING FOR GAS?

  • Held at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi on 24th November 2022.
  • Prof. Dr. Faizullah Abbasi, Vice Chancellor was the Chief Guest of the workshop.
  • The audience of the workshop was the senior and junior faculty from DUET. In the workshop,
  • Dr. Imran Nazir thoroughly briefed the current scenario of Natural Gas in Pakistan and showed that Pakistan will have a severe shortage of natural gas in an upcoming couple of years.
  • Then he placed an alternative way to combat this shortage via Coal or Biomass Gasification.
  • He presented the world statistics of coal and biomass gasifiers and presented a detailed discussion on the mechanism,types and various processes of producing important chemicals like natural gas through coal/biomass gasification
  • At the end a shield of appreciation was presented to Dr. Imran Nazir by Prof. Dr. Faizullah Abbassi (VC of DUET).

The international resource persons delivered the successful lecture and activities to build a foundation of leadership skills that will helpful in achieving their personal and professional goals
